OUR HISTORY

Check-in carwash was founded in September 2014 by Branko Mihajlov, Simon Ludick, Andreas Höflinger and Erwin Schmidt with the aim of setting new standards in car cleaning. The first location was Vienna Airport, where a modern infrastructure for cleaning private vehicles was created in parking garage 4 on deck 2 and went into operation in June 2015. True to our slogan “we park and clean your car while you fly”, our service is aimed at customers who want a high-quality cleaning and preparation of their vehicle and want to combine this with a flight. We have developed the process precisely to meet the needs and high quality standards of our customers – from the fast acceptance process and punctual cleaning to the safe and uncomplicated collection process. We clean by hand using a steam cleaner. This is the most environmentally friendly method for both the car and the environment – we only use around 4 liters of water per car. Our processes are also subject to constant evaluation and improvement; we added a simple self-check-in and – due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 – a pick-up and delivery service.

In 2018, we were the first and so far only car valeting company at an airport to be certified by Austrian Standards. During the certification process, we were rigorously audited in terms of quality, transparency, professionalism and compliance with legal requirements.
In 2019, we were approached by rental car companies about a cooperation and entered into the rental car cleaning and fleet servicing business for National/Alamo/Enterprise and UfoDrive. We were impressed by the high quality as well as the reliable and fast processing. Due to the capacity restrictions at our location in the parking garage, we were unable to accept any more rental car customers.

This changed on February 9, 2021 with the acquisition of 100% of arwe Austria Service GmbH and its location, also at Vienna Airport. Since then, the capacity of the rental car cleaning services has increased significantly and further customers (including AVIS) have been acquired.

Also in 2021, check-in carwash won the tender for the fleet management of the car sharing provider ShareNow (formerly Car2Go and DriveNow) for Vienna.

Since December 2021, we have also been managing the Sixt fleet at the Vienna Airport, Vienna Central Station, Salzburg Airport and Salzburg City locations.

In December 2023, check-in carwash became part of the Europe-wide Assured Group.
